McLaughlin Design
Award-winning architect Níall McLaughlin is internationally recognised for work that combines exceptional craftsmanship, sensitivity to place, and a profound understanding of light, landscape, and community. Born in Geneva and educated at University College Dublin, he founded Níall McLaughlin Architects in London in 1990. His acclaimed projects include the Bishop Edward King Chapel, the Alzheimer’s Respite Centre in Dublin, and the Stirling Prize-winning New Library at Magdalene College, Cambridge. A respected educator and writer, McLaughlin was awarded the 2026 RIBA Royal Gold Medal, architecture’s highest honour, recognising his lifetime contribution to architectural practice, education, and critical thought.
