Join us for an inspiring evening with a special Design Talk and DWD aperitif at 34 Barrow Street, the future home of chef Karl Whelan’s much-anticipated Restaurant Marée, which will open in August.
Located in the beautifully restored historic Miller’s Lodge at Bolands Mills, Restaurant Marée promises to bring a fresh, design-led, French-influenced flair to Dublin’s culinary landscape. Before the talk, attendees are encouraged to take a stroll through the newly redeveloped area, with its sleek residential buildings, heritage architecture, landscaped square, and scenic canalside walkways.
Chef Karl Whelan – formerly at Luna, Hang Dai and Saltwater Grocery, with skills honed in France – will be joined by designer Ahmad Fackry and architect and presenter Amanda Bone to discuss the privileges and challenges of creating an exciting landmark restaurant in a historic building.
Guests will be treated to delicious snacks prepared by Karl and team, and an aperitif of Boatyard Double Gin Martinis by Boatyard Distillery, founded by Joe McGirr in Co Fermanagh, and featuring the purist’s double-juniper distillation process for delicious simple serves and cocktails.
